FIAT PUNTO ABARTH HGT
The cars are all Fiat Punto Abarth HGT models.
In total 25 cars were built in 2002 using new the Fiat Punto HGT model, of which 24 still remain. In making the cars race worthy the interior was completely stripped out and replaced with a F.I.A. approved welded in roll cage. A plumbed in fire extinguisher system, competition seat and steering wheel, six point safety harness and electrical cut-out switch were all fitted.
The cars all use the standard 1800 cc 16V engine, but with competition stand alone ECU. The power is increased to approximately 170 BHP. The cars all run on 95 octane lead free pump fuel.
The cars all use the original gearbox and ratios complete with up rated mountings and gear selection mechanism.
The front brakes were replaced with up-rated system and competition brake pads. The suspension was replaced with adjustable competition dampers, modified bushes and mountings. |
