3.5 Recording equipment

3.5.1 It is mandatory to have video recording equipment fitted and operating during qualifying and racing. This must consist of at least one forward facing camera, which must give a view of the track ahead, steering wheel and drivers hands. Competitors must ensure that this equipment is recording at all times during qualifying and races. It is the responsibility of the driver to ensure that the unit battery is charged and the camera switched on during the above mentioned sessions and any recording equipment found not to be operating during any qualifying session or race will result in four championship points being deducted from the driver. The fitting of the camera must satisfy the safety requirements of the CES. The choice of system is free provided that playback is possible at the circuit by regular means, such as via a laptop or PC, or by using equipment designed for the purpose and provided by the competitor. The recorded footage must be made available on request to the championship coordinator or CES. The recorded footage must also be made available on request to the Clerk of the Course (CoC) or to his/her representative. Failure to do so may lead to disciplinary measures by the CoC and may prejudice their defence in the case of an incident. The requirement to provide footage to the CoC also applies to any other recording equipment fitted in the car, whether facing forward or otherwise.

4.3 Any driver found guilty of a driving offence which generates penalty points under GCR 150 will also have championship points deducted. The number of championship points deducted will be double the number of penalty points endorsed on the drivers’ race license. The driver is required to notify the championship coordinator in writing of any penalty points endorsed on their license within seven days of such endorsement.
